 The United Nations
Golf Club (UNGC) is a dynamic group of golfers consisting of serving and retired staff of International Organizations in Vienna, Permanent Missions, Embassies and their families. UNGC activities focus on helping
beginner golfers, organizing friendly and challenge tournaments at the best golf courses around Vienna and annual
golf excursions within Austria and abroad. The UNGC has about 200 members.
The UNGC hosts two signature tournaments,
The “UNO Trophy" in honour
of all United Nations organizations in the Vienna International Center and the “Ambassadors
Cup” hosted in honour of the Heads of Missions and Embassies based in Vienna.
UNGC
is one of the oldest established UN clubs and has been active for over 30 years. In 2011 UNGC organized 8 tournaments
including GC Colony Club Himberg, GC Lengenfeld, GC
Schoenfeld, GC Sussenbrunn, GCC Brunn, GC Ottenstein, and
GC Tuttendoerfl, and GC Veltliner Poysdorf.
In addition, two golf excursions to Murhof,
Austria and to
the Canary Islands were organized.
The
UNGC tournaments are an annual highlight for the Austrian golf community and include interesting prizes,
tombola’s, wine tastings from various wine producers, as well as a great dinners and other social events in the evenings.
The UNGC is supported by a key group of sponsors, including local and international firms, as listed on our website.
The 2012 Tournament Schedule includes 10 tournaments in various clubs in Austria.
